We’ve decided to take our 12:05 Yin on Thursday’s and our 4:30 Vinyasa classes off of the schedule to make room for more great Therapeutic Yoga classes.

Stay tuned for Pelvic Floor and Core on Wednesdays at 12:05 starting in March, an evening Therapeutic Yoga class on Mondays at 6 and 2 Yin Illuminated classes on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Monday

Yin Illuminated

Yin Illuminated with Lindsay Cawston, RMT and Mary Tuares RYT, BSc.  is a class that blends postures used to deeply and safely stretch the muscles and deep connective tissues throughout the body with an in depth explanation of what these postures each strive to achieve within its targeted group, what that should feel like, how your body adapts and how these stretches can be used to undo chronic tension patterns.  Questions are encouraged in this class and adjustments and homework are often given. This class is suitable for all levels and all conditions.

 

 

 

Yoga with Sarah

Combining a multitude of yoga practices to activate, balance and remove blockages of the chakras or energy centres of our being. The ultimate aim is to prepare for and awaken Kundalini energy through combining movement, breath, sound, intention and meditation. This all encompassing practice also leads to improved physical fitness and well being, calming and focusing of the mind, enhancing awareness and connection to all that is. This form of yoga is dynamic, fun and suitable for beginners and advanced yogis alike.

Note: this course is not Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan

Tuesday

Stretch and Flow

Stretch+Flow is a class that targets primary muscle groups to both strengthen and stretch. Join Mitchell Gelz, RYT to alleviate tight muscles that can cause imbalance and pull the body out of alignment. This class begins with warm-up movements to build heat and prepare the muscles for stretching. This class is suitable for all levels.

Therapeutic Yoga

Join Martina Forster, OT in addressing specific physical issues or injuries and learn strategies and yoga poses to remediate problem areas. The goal of these yoga classes is to provide you with do-able solutions, which will leave you with a clearer understanding of your body mechanics, problem areas and approaches for continued at home work.

Yoga props are all provided. Please dress comfortably and ready to move. This class is suitable for all levels, injuries and conditions. Please arrive early for an intake with Martina if this is your first class with us.

Join Alicia Borenheim in uniting restorative yoga with Yoga Nidra.

Experience soothing breath work and supportive restorative postures while hot stones are placed throughout key areas of the body to promote relaxation and to create a practice that will nourish all systems of your body. Ease your mind and connect with your heart.

Somatic Yoga

Join Carolyn Pigott, RMT to be introduced to fundamental movements that reconnect your brain to your muscles. Through the practice of deep breathing techniques and mindful awareness you will discover areas of your body that are stuck in something called sensory motor amnesia, a chronically tight state in the muscles.You will be gently guided to unlock these patterns and feel a renewed sense of ease and comfort in these muscles. Your mind and body will relax and you will walk out feeling a renewed vitality to take on your life once again!

This class is suitable for all ages and abilities.

Thursday

Sarah's class will explore morning yogic practices to help awaken your body, uplift your vibrations and energize your entire being! Come to class before breakfast if possible or on a very light meal. 
 

Yoga for Chronic Pain

Join Lena Watt, RYT in a therapeutic yoga class for people who have been injured or suffer from chronic pain.  We will work together to tap into our parasympathetic nervous system and develop a deeper understanding of pain and sensation in the body through different interoceptive, breathing and movement practices.  This class moves through a variety of different asana postures to help improve range of motion, flexibility, balance, strength and functional movement.

This class is suitable for all levels, injuries and conditions.

 

Kundalini

Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® is considered the most comprehensive of yoga traditions, combining meditation, mantra, physical exercises and breathing techniques; it is a Raj Yog, encompassing the eight limbs of yoga into a singular practice of excellence and ecstasy.

Sunday

Pre Natal Yoga *Series only*

In each class you will be led through meditations focused around pregnancy and birth as well as led through breathing techniques.  

All classes are sequenced with postures and flows that were created with the pregnant body in mind.  Postures that relieve tension in common pregnancy tight spots and postures that strengthen the body in preparation for delivery and motherhood. It's a prenatal yoga class sequenced for the pregnant body with meditations for connection to the unborn baby and a community gathering of women on a similar path.
